The Health and Physical Education major is a study option within the Bachelor of Education (Secondary Education). It prepares you to teach Australia's health and physical education curriculum to students in years 7 to 12.

You'll learn teaching strategies and techniques specific to this area, covering the core curriculum areas of personal, social and community health; and movement and physical activity.

You'll gain the practical skills and leadership qualities you need to improve the health, wellbeing and physical literacy of young people, and will be immersed in a technology-enhanced learning environment where collaborative activities develop your teaching capability.

This course integrates education theory with classroom practice. You'll undertake 18 weeks of supervised teaching experience in secondary schools and build a professional digital portfolio that showcases your teaching abilities to potential employers.

All units are mapped to the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers, ensuring you graduate with the relevant competencies required to teach successfully.
